ACA Exchange Hearing Update:

How many hearings have been filed? How may have been heard? How many were CW? How many were W? How many were VW? How many grants? How many denials? How many second level cases and status?

8.

Carryover item:  Authorized representative issue: San Bernardino County ASH office will not recognize a limited conservator as the authorized representative for public benefits. County states a limited conservator has no authority to request an IHSS hearing for the conservatee.  (Bet Tzedek)

9.

The hold time when calling the State Hearing number, 800-743-8525, is very long.  In the past, calls were answered within 5 minutes and now there are often 30 calls ahead of me and I am never given a call back option.  I would like information about this change and what can be done to reduce hold times. (Bet Tzedek)

10.

Delays in scheduling IHSS hearings in Los Angeles County.  How long does after an IHSS hearing request will the hearing be scheduled?  Is DPSS paying penalties due to the delays? (Bet Tzedek)

11.

Access to hearing recordings.  LSNC asked for a recording of a hearing and was told we could not get the recording until after the decision is released.  This is a problem for cases where we need to review the recording during the proceedings including when there a second hearing after finding jurisdiction in a bifurcated hearing, a hearing that takes more than one day and when there is post-hearing briefing.  We should be able to get a copy of the hearing recording before there is a decision.  This has not been a problem in the past, particularly for post-hearing briefing, but for some reason it is a problem now. (LSNC)
