If you are homeless and apply or homeless assisance, the county must give you the homeless money on an EBT card the same day, if otherwise eligible.

CalWORKs Immediate Need?

Payment- The Immediate Need payment is the amount of cash aid to which the applicant family is entitled for the month of application, or $200.00, whichever is less

If you have kids and apply for CalWORKs and If you are appearently eligible for CalWORKs and (1) have less than $100.

: Grace A. Galligher has been a welfare litigator since 1980. Grace was born in Missouri. She moved to California when she was 12 years old. She graduated from Sacramento State and majored in business and accounting. She then decided to become a lawyer. After graduating from Lincoln Law School in Sacramento she briefly went into private practice, then joined CCWRO and became a lifetime poverty fighting lawyer. Grace has been fighting poverty during two (2) different centuries. She has participate in numerous major welfare litigation efforts in California.
